Am I the only one tired of this lock-out? No? Didn’t think so! I should be sitting back enjoying preseason as if it was regular season but instead I’m forced to sit around watching ESPN hoping that the ticker flashes “BREAKING NEWS: NBA Lockout has ended.”

After a seven hour meeting, the players and owners could still NOT come to an agreement. So that means bye-bye to the first two weeks of the regular season. David Stern announced that this is not a postponement but a full cancelation of those two weeks and this will not be an 82-game season. (If there is even a season)

It actually irritates me to think of how it is arguments amongst rich people over money when it is affecting more than just the players and owners who could go without pay a few months and still live comfortably. What about the concession stand vendors, the ushers, the local businesses in the neighborhood that bank off of the games? This is taking money away from the people that keep the fans happy each game around the stadiums and arenas. So when I see a player tweet about boycotting because they are underpaid it really makes me wonder how they would feel if the tables were turned and they were the ones sitting in the booth selling hot dogs making $9 an hour, if lucky, and having to stress about rich people taking their job away in greed. Then when I see players stating they are negotiating and are willing to take less pay it makes me think, then why is the lock out still going? If you are willing to take less pay and that’s what they want then, bam, sounds over. Yet we are still sitting without basketball.

Then when I see people showing disappointment with David Stern it makes me laugh. Isn’t this a debate between players and owners? He’s just the middle man… be mad at everyone!

This lockout has the NFL beat, the NFL was able to find a common ground before a single game was missed, but clearly the NBA is a different breed. Before I get into a real rant and say some bad things about this whole lockout business, I’ll just stop. One last thing, as a fan, I would love for the lockout to end and to be able to watch Lebron James or Derrick Rose conquer that ring this year (yeah, I said it). However, the thinker in me is really upset with this whole situation.

Can we just get an agreement though? I’m over this lockout!!!!! What are you guys thoughts on the lockout?
